The Designer Diaper Bag You’ll Want to Carry Even If You Don’t Have a Baby

When Nasiba Adilova and Miroslava Duma launched The Tot two years ago, they did so with the intent to solve issues and address concerns that affect mothers everywhere through smart editorial and a curated inventory of tried-and-tested products. One of those issues? The absence of a chic diaper bag on the market. They took matters into their hands and teamed up with designer (and fashion industry darling) Mary Katrantzou to launch what they consider the dream diaper bag. It boasts all the elements of a luxury designer tote, but with the added benefit of being incredibly versatile, with practical compartments designed to hold everything, from diapers to binkies.

“When I was pregnant, there were many beautiful choices for a diaper bag, but none of them would fit everything I needed,” Adilova explains. “I wanted a simple bag, like Louis Vuitton or Goyard; basically, a fashionable tote for fashionable moms that didn’t look like a diaper bag.”

The bag underwent three redesigns until it met their criteria—a wider, roomier shape (to hold a lot more stuff), an additional longer strap (that you can hang on every kind of stroller), a more durable, water-resistant leather (the inside lining is water-resistant as well), a bigger zipper (to help you zip, even if the bag is stuffed to the brim), and a larger waterproof changing pad (that you can unclip from inside the bag). As for the print, Adilova and Duma went through Katrantzou’s design archives and selected two styles: a Mongolian stamp from her collection, where she replaced the original text with “The Tot,” and a white horse (that they call a unicorn in-house).

With a $1,700 price tag, the diaper bag isn’t cheap. But Adilova insists that it’s not expensive, either. In fact, she says Katrantzou had wanted to mark it up even higher. And compared with other high-end diaper bags (made out of nylon, FYI), which start at $2,000, this one is considered to be on the affordable end of the designer bag spectrum. “Yes, you can find very cheap diaper bags, but they don’t look like fashion bags. They’re not very well made, you’ll use it only for a couple of years, and you’ll probably throw it away,” she says. “The great thing about this one is that it makes a really great travel bag after. This one will last you forever.”

And only a week after its launch, they’ve already been receiving positive feedback. “The result is fantastic,” Adilova says. “People have bought it, written to us to say there’s nothing else like it on the market. They love it.”

Only 180 of the limited-edition Mary Katrantzou diaper bags were made, so head to to grab one for yourself—even if you don’t have a child.

This Is the Most Popular T-Shirt at Couture Fashion Week

When it comes to statement pieces and timely fashion, perhaps no other piece is making its case quite as loudly as this one is: a simple white tee with the even simpler message, “WE SHOULD ALL BE FEMINISTS.” Leave it to Dior’s new artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri to hit us with the PSA when she sent it down the spring 2017 runway—and for her debut collection as the first woman to ever head the house of Christian Dior, might I add. And given last weekend’s Women’s Marches that took place all over the globe, well, it’s clear this is more than just a statement—this is a declaration. This is a call to arms. This is feminism, and it’s taking over street style at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

RELATED: Can Fashion be Feminist?

Amidst a sea of sleek leather and plush fur dominating the Paris street style set is the ever-so laid-back, cotton white tee. You can spot the powerful message on models as part of their off-duty uniforms before and after shows and on Insta-famous influencer Chiara Ferragni under a slick blazer and tulle skirt.

Quickly reigning as Couture Week’s street-style gem, the tee was inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s highly acclaimed book-length essay We Should All be Feminists and TEDx Talk of the same name.

The Dior tee made its public debut at the Women’s March in LA when Natalie Portman wore it while giving her powerful speech on women’s rights.

On the eve of #MariaGraziaChiuri’s first couture show for Dior, our muse Natalie Portman stood up for the rights of women everywhere while wearing our T-shirt inspired by our friend Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s powerfully resonant essay ‘We Should All be Feminists’.

It may be the tee of the moment, but let’s get one thing clear: This isn’t a passing trend. Feminism is here to stay.

When Katy Perry Dresses for the Theater, She Sparkles

If Katy Perry is any indication—and we think she is, “going-out tops” are officially back. We had heard rumors of the re-emergening trend but Perry just sealed the deal.

Perry has spent much of the week promoting her new single with Migos called “Bon Appetit” by doing wacky things like handing out cherry pies to fans in Times Square and baking a pie for a video with Tasty.

VIDEO: 10 of Katy Perry’s Best Instagrams

But when she’s not serving treats, she is serving looks. The style savvy blonde wore a shimmering gold mock neck tank top to The Music Box to see the smash hit musical Dear Evan Hansen on her night off. She kept the rest of her look cool in the New York almost-summer heat with PVC-embellished culottes, which she accessorized with silver sandals, chunky gold rings, a white watch, and a quilted chrome bag.

Since switching to a lighter hair color, Perry has been playing with her makeup and opting for softer hues. She finished her look with pastel pink lips, blue eye winged liner and full brows.

Perry’s food-related promos are in perfect correlation with the lyrics from her new single. Those cherry pies were right in line with her lyric, “Want to keep your satisfied / I’m the world’s best cherry pie / I am on the menu.” Knowing Perry, anything she serves from style to food is going to be on trend and piping hot.

Jessica Alba Got Faux Freckles at Tory Burch—Plus 6 Other Things to Know About the Show

New York Fashion Week starts early and ends late, and if you don’t have the stamina (or an IV drip of caffeine), then the struggle can get real pretty quickly. But not even the most staunchly morning-averse night owl would miss Tory Burch’s 9 a.m. show—one of the earliest on the calendar. Happy and vibrant, her shows never fail to deliver saturated colors and bold prints, making it arguably one of the best ways to start the day. Factor in a cool new location and an even cooler front row, and there’s no question about it. Keep reading to find out everything that happened at Tory Burch’s spring 2017 show.

1. After seasons of staging her shows at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, the designer switched things up and went for the brand sparkling new Whitney Museum location that opened last year in the Meatpacking District.

2. Tory Burch outfitted the models in matching Tory Sport track suits during prep time.

3. Honest Beauty makeup was used to give models a natural glow, complete with faux freckles, which were drawn on with the brand’s True Velvet Eyeliner in Cocoa—a look that Jessica Alba also had done backstage prior to the show. “Look,” she told Beauterage Fashion Director Melissa Rubini in the front row. “Freckles!”

Who wouldn’t love a little touch-up before the show? @honest_beauty’s @jessicaalba joined all the models backstage at @toryburch’s #SS17 show, where makeup artist @diane.kendal used the brand’s True Velvet Eyeliner in Cocoa to give the beauties faux freckles. ✨💄🌸 #NYFW

4. Beyoncé’s protégés Chloe and Halle Bailey (aka the coolest girls around) also took their seats in the front row, both clad in Tory Sport gear.

5. The show opened with “Massachusetts” by the Bee Gees, but quickly segued into Beyoncé, at which point, Chloe and Halle started dancing in their seats. “The playlist was amazing—everything was poppin’,” Chloe said afterwards, while Halle began to sing: “They don’t love you like I do.”

6. Taylor Hill and Hailey Baldwin were among the big-name models cast in the show.

7. The spring 2017 looks included darling preppy cardigans, sweeping split-seamed pants, and a fun color palette of kelly green, bubblegum pink, and bright orange. “The collection was absolutely amazing—I love the colors she uses, the oranges were so beautiful, it [was] fun and flirty, and different at the same time, which I love,” Chloe said. And their favorite look? “The two-piece that was orange,” they both said simultaneously, laughing.
